In the beginning and on the eighth page of the Degey edition biography of Yongzin Yeshi Drupa, the fifth reincarnation of the Drupa Dechoe Yongzin, composed by Choekyi Nyinje, the seventh reincarnation of the Great Kagyue master Choezin, we find how the Dholgyal practice was restricted When he [Yongzin Yeshi] was in meditation, a terribly harmful spirit called Dorjee Shugden, in order to test his spiritual level and harm him, entered him repeatedly and tried to disrupt his meditation, but the master remained undisturbed for sometime. Then when he applied the stages of Tantric meditation to subdue the spirit, the spirit came out from his body and the master bound him by vows and the spirit said, “If you and your disciples worship me, I have many retinues of malevolent demons and ghosts, and they will harm you. Therefore, you should not worship me“
